Plenty of Sessions KEEPING US ALL WARM
As Winter is now definitely upon us I thought I'd just add a few notes to the Blog.
Things have quietened down a little (thank goodness) on the FA Coach Mentoring programme, as Woodkirk Valley have almost fully utilised their quota with many of their coaches. I'll be working with them again shortly, to complete their programme, providing some workshops for all their coaching and Management staff.
I'm now fully engaged and building up sessions with Dewsbury Rangers, my other allocated FA Coach Mentoring club. I've already worked with several of their coaches and I look forward to the coming sessions.
I've also now provided Soccer Elite mentoring sessions with almost all of the Batley Juniors' Management teams and I have been told by the committee it has been very productive.
It's been pretty busy at the County's girls' Player Development Centre (PDC) u11s, as there's a couple of matches coming up and we've been assessing players to prepare for these fixtures, the first one being against Sheffield and Hallam Regional FA. I have continued to develop my coaching skills for Disabled Footballers and as a result, have been retained by a couple of my first venues and also asked to coach more Disabled football sessions for the WRCFA.
Saturday mornings has seen just one session cancelled this winter, so we're not doing to badly on that front. A bit of news for you, Jake Thompson has been asked back to Huddersfield Town FC, as they want to have another look at him. I'm quite pleased that we managed to help keep Jake sharp by attending our sessions on Saturdays and hopefully it has helped. As mentioned before, our target is to provide high quality but FUN and reduced pressure sessions for the players and they seem to enjoy the environment, as well as improving their skills.
I'll have some news in my next blog about the WRCFA Join our Club Coaching Scheme and Sporting Equals sessions, both of which I'm looking forward to getting involved more.
Stay warm!!!! Mark.
